Bonn Smith
Versatile and personable professional with 10+ years experience in finance, marketing, and venture capital in both the public and private sectors. A natural team player and enthusiastic problem-solver who is detail-oriented. Experience overseeing teams and building businesses.
With this mindset firmly in place, I am proud to call myself a man with many hats. Thanks to my compass being ever-set on things I enjoy, I am now able to call myself a media-based entrepreneur, nation-wide charting independent musician, Sauder School of Business graduate, MuchMusic VJ, securities-certified capital markets professional, film/tv/commercial actor, public speaker, day/swing/position trader, world traveler and athlete. Is it fun to have many hats? Yes. But it's more than that - being able to think critically about an issue or opportunity from a variety of perspectives is an invaluable skill. With the workplace becoming increasingly automated (i.e. less reliant on the physical human being), idea-generation rules. You know, creative right-brain stuff! And in my experience, the only way to become an affluent idea-generating machine is to simply experience a variety of stuff; get out there and try scary things, engage in heated conversations, travel to the poorest and richest of countries. Your ideas will then reflect something greater than yourself. Those ideas, the all encompassing ones, have the potential to create something meaningful, something bold, something big.
I am passionate about the intersections of all things music, technology, and media. My work is currently about creating various mediums to help people and companies express, and communicate in novel new ways.
