YOUNGEST ME
I just turned 27 years old - and I am ecstatic. This is the youngest me I will ever be.
And the same goes for tomorrow.
We continually reflect on how old we are, or how old we are getting. It is so brazenly obvious to me now that thinking that — every time we think that — a negative reaction is invited from both ourselves and those around us. Emotionally speaking, from that moment onwards, the best we can do is talk ourselves back to zero.
This is clearly time wasted — it’s just science.
So I have changed my self-rhetoric; I now reflect on how young I am — how capable and strong and optimistically naïve I am. This new perspective immediately makes me want to push myself, and do something big. After all, this is me living my youngest real-time moment, and it must not be taken for granted.
This mindset is empowering. It permits me to challenge myself by exploring the struggles of building both my body and mind — I am just too damn curious to witness the capabilities of this, my youngest me.
And I challenge you to do the same.
